Hoodoo Sen Moise Book Signing. Sep 27, 2018, 6:30-8pm.
We’re excited to announce that Hoodoo Sen Moise will be doing a book signing of his new book, Working Conjure: A Guide to Hoodoo Folk Magic, at Ritualcravt! No tickets necessary, doors will open at 6:30. Books will be available for purchase.
“Conjure, also known as Hoodoo or Rootwork, is an old, powerful, and increasingly popular system of North American folk magic. Conjure’s roots derive primarily from West and Central African spiritual traditions, but it has also been influenced by Christianity, Jewish mysticism, and Native American practices.
Working Conjure explores the history, culture, principles, fundamentals, and ethics of Conjure, while simultaneously serving as a practical how-to guide for actually doing the work.”
Hoodoo Sen Moise was raised in Southern Conjure and Hoodoo. As a child, he was taught by his grandfather to speak with the ancestors and, by the age of four, was able to see the spirits and had learned to open the door to power, wisdom, and service. He is now among the foremost authorities on the topic and also an initiated priest in Haitian Vodou and Palo Mayombe. Hoodoo Sen Moise resides in New Orleans, where he is co-owner of the shop Conjure New Orleans. He teaches in New Orleans, Salem, and elsewhere in the United States and abroad. He wrote the book, “Working Conjure” that released in 2018 by Weiser/Red Wheel. Hoodoo Sen Moise is a priest, an author and a spiritual father.
